Walking Camino solo
Is it safe?
Let me ask you a question… safer than what?
The truth is you can be at home in your lounge room and trip over and do some serious damage.
Likewise crossing the road in your neighbourhood could prove perilous…
Then there is a night out on the town, who knows what could happen!
I know where I would prefer to be while risking my safety!
Together with yellow arrows and shells guiding the way, there are pilgrims from all over the world on the path with you. Uniquely to Camino, you become part of what is well known as your Camino Family. Faces become familiar if you feel uncertain at any point ask someone to keep an eye out for you.
Staying Safe
Travel smart; be mindful at all times as to where you are walking. Pay attention to the yellow arrows. Trust your intuition if something feels wrong it most certainly is. Be prepared with the maps and guides we provide. And most of all have some faith in yourself.
Another safety question I am regularly asked, possibly due to books or movies is What about the wild dogs? In my experience, the dogs on Camino are just as wild as the ones I see in the local neighbourhood at home.
Don’t miss out on this incredible adventure because of fear. If you have doubts contact me. Let’s have a conversation to understand how I can support you to feel confident to walk a Camino!
Buen Camino!!
“I hope you will go out and let stories, that is life, happen to you, and that you will work with these stories… water them with your blood and tears and your laughter till they bloom, till you yourself burst into bloom.”
― Clarissa Pinkola Estés
