Buen Camino – Good Way
Along the Camino, you can hear pilgrims greet one another with the phrase “Buen Camino,” in Spanish, or “Bom Caminho” on the Portuguese Caminho. This little phrase literally translates to “good path”. A greeting understood as best wishes, walk safe, enjoy!
With Pilgrims from every corner of the world having different ethnicities, backgrounds, languages, and cultures these words are like a universal “hello I see you” the opening of conversation or simply acknowledgment as you pass by.
